What happens with the former Tempelhof Airport Building? A place for commerce or a space for community?
In april 2019 a group of people started using the Torhaus on a daily basis and a small network grew around the former gatekeepers house of the huge Tempelhof Airport Building.
In order to activate the empty airport area and open
it up for the public, we developed
a three-week-programm with different workshop
formats, neighborhood dinners, an open air cinema
and a pop up radio station.
During the festival, the gatekeeper tradition of the Torhaus was revived: by being present at the Torhaus, it was also possible for people passing by to randomly to start a conversation and get involved. ︎
